It is our pleasure to invite you to celebrate an exciting new chapter in the life of our Minyan. We hope you will join us for a special Founders Lunch following Shabbat morning services on December 18th.

Barely three years ago, Kenny Jeruchim, Jessica Lieberman, Adam Szubin, and Beth Tritter came together to discuss the potential for a new minyan in the nation's capital. DC Minyan was born a few classes and a few months later, when our first Shabbat morning services in February 2002 attracted around 80 people to the cramped-but-cozy Luna Books on P Street. Since then, DC Minyan has evolved into a vibrant and important part of Jewish life in Washington, providing a warm, intellectually-engaging environment for prayer, study, and growth. In the coming weeks, as the last of our founders steps down from the Minyan's Steering Committee, we are excited to come together as a community to honor them for their work and to look forward to the Minyan's future.

The Founders Lunch is free for DC Minyan members, and $36 per person for non-members. Please RSVP to founderslunch@dcminyan.org by December 10th. While we would like to accommodate everyone, space for the lunch is limited, so please sign up as soon as possible. As this event is free for members, we hope non-members will use this as an occasion to join DC Minyan. Membership dues and other information can be found on our website, http://www.dcminyan.org. As always, if you anticipate difficulty in paying, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

While the Minyan is prepared to take on the cost of this community event, we are eager to have as much of the cost underwritten as possible. There are many opportunities to be involved, from bankrolling benschers to laying-out for lunch. Please email us at founderslunch@dcminyan.org to express interest, and we'll be glad to outline underwriting options for you. Along with your presence on December 18th, your tax-deductible gift to DC Minyan is the best way to honor Kenny, Jessica, Adam and Beth, and ensure that we continue to build on the foundation they put in place. We know that many of us delay the bulk of our charitable giving until the end of the calendar year. As we move into the final weeks of 2004, we hope that you will make DC Minyan a priority for your generosity.

Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you on December 18th.
