Purim Volunteers
Believe it or not, Purim is right around the corner! DC Minyan is looking for volunteers to help coordinate Purim programming. If you are interested in helping with this fun holiday, please email sc@dcminyan.org.
Social Media Coordinator
Are you social media savvy? DC Minyan is looking for a social media coordinator to keep our Facebook page up to date, including sharing upcoming events and photographs, and ensuring that our page gives viewers a sense of our community. Additionally, we would love the social media coordinator to have a vision of how DC Minyan can better utilize social media in general (including, but not limited to, Facebook) to connect with our members and with the greater DC community. If you’re a social media pro with a vision and are interested in using your skills to help DC Minyan, please email sc@dcminyan.org.
Kids and Parents Coordinator
DC Minyan is looking for someone to coordinate and create programs for the quickly growing population of children in our community. The Kids and Parents Coordinator will be responsible for managing existing programming such as Tot Shabbat and holiday programming, and will hopefully have ideas for ways in which the current program can be expanded. This person will also hold a spot on the Leadership Council and will participate in larger decisions in the running of DC Minyan.
DC Minyan’s Leadership Council (LC), comprised of current and immediate past Steering Committee members as well as the chairs of each DC Minyan committee, serves a critical role in the day-to-day operations of DC Minyan. The LC shapes the vision of DC Minyan and approves DC Minyan’s annual operating budget, meeting monthly to discuss programs, holidays, and big-picture topics affecting the community. As a member of the LC, the Kids and Parents Coordinator serves as a public face of DC Minyan through regular attendance at DC Minyan events, helps foster a sense of community by reaching out to new people and, of course, helps integrate kids and parents initiatives into DC Minyan. If you are interested in joining the LC as the Kids and Parents Coordinator, please email sc@dcminyan.org.
Community Pledge
We are excited to announce that DC Minyan’s 10th anniversary celebration will include a Community Pledge. The team of volunteers running the Community Pledge is committed to helping each member find something to do, learn, give, or plan with a special focus on doing something NEW. Please take a moment to fill out the Community Pledge form by clicking here. It will only take 1-2 minutes to complete. After you submit the form, a member of the pledge team will follow up with you to help get you started. Please contact Abigail Romirowsky and Stephanie Schwartz at pledge@dcminyan.org with any questions!
Join the DC Minyan Scotch Club
DC Minyan is starting a scotch club! Every Shabbat morning, we’ll be looking for a different volunteer to bring a bottle of scotch. Think of it as buying the minyan a round. If you’re interested in bringing a bottle of scotch to kiddush, please contact Dan Fogelman at scotchclub@dcminyan.org or speak to him during kiddush.
Short Term Volunteer Opportunities
We have heard from many members that you would like to hear about opportunities to help DC Minyan with short-term, discrete projects. Volunteering is a fantastic way to get more involved in DC Minyan, and we would be delighted to help you identify the right volunteer opportunity for you based on your interests and availability! If you would like to find out about specific volunteer opportunities in addition to those listed above, please email the Steering Committee at sc@dcminyan.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
