Community Survey

DC Minyan is conducting a survey to enhance our understanding of our community's needs so that we can make the Minyan even better and plan for the next 5-10 years. We value your opinion, and really appreciate you taking the time to complete it. The survey should only take 10-15 minutes and will be an invaluable resource for our community.

This survey is open to all, and you do not need to be a member of DC Minyan to participate. If you are on DC Minyan’s mailing list for weekly announcements then you will be sent a personal link with direct access to the online survey. If you do not receive DC Minyan emails, you can still get access to the survey upon request. Please email survey@dcminyan.org to request a link and we will send it to you as soon as possible.

This is your opportunity to tell us how we're doing. So, please be as honest as possible and feel free to leave comments wherever you think they might be helpful. How do I take the 2014 DC Minyan Survey?
Check your inbox for an email with a link for direct access to the online survey. Click that link and you are ready to go!

I did not receive an email with a link to take the survey, what can I do?
Check your spam folder, just in case. If there’s nothing there, please email synagogues@measuring-success.com and a link will be created for you. It will be sent along within 48 hours.

I’m not a dues-paying member of DC Minyan. Can I still take the survey?
Absolutely, please do! We are eager to learn from your opinions, whether you are a member or not.

Is the survey anonymous?
Your responses are kept confidential by Measuring Success, the company that is conducting and professionally analyzing our survey. That means that no representative of DC Minyan will ever be told what your individual response was to any of the questions in the survey.

My partner already completed this survey. Should I fill it out as well?
Yes, please do! We value the opinion of all everyone in our community equally.

Why does DC Minyan want this information?
In general, we would like a better understanding of our community’s needs to help us plan for the next 5-10 years. Your responses will give us a better sense of who comes to DC Minyan and what they are looking for out of their religious community.

Didn’t we just do this?
In 2009, we held the DC Minyan Dialogues, a series of conversations about the past, present, and future of the Minyan. In our community, 5 years is a long time so we felt it was important to revisit some of the questions we asked in 2009 to see in what ways our community has changed.

Who wrote the survey?
This survey was written by a committee of seven DC Minyan members, with input from the Steering Committee and the Leadership Council. For more information about the leadership of DC Minyan, please see the Leadership page under the About tab on our navigation bar.

Who is running the survey?
Measuring Success, an independent third party firm with experience working with synagogues and other non-profit organizations.

When will the survey close?
The survey will be open for no longer than 3 weeks after it launches, so please fill it out in a timely way.

How will the results of the survey be reported?
Measuring Success will prepare an analysis of the survey and share it with the leadership of DC Minyan. Shortly after that the findings will be publicized at an open community meeting, or a series of smaller gatherings.

How long will it take to complete the survey?
We expect you to be able to finish all questions in 10-15 minutes.

Can I save my responses and return to them at a later time?
Each time you submit a page of the survey your results are automatically saved and your survey can be accessed again at any time by clicking on the link sent to your email address. However, we strongly recommend finishing the survey in one sitting to ensure completion.
